Thread: Survive: Escape from Atlantis!:: Rules:: No Boats on the Board?

Hi,

what happens if there are no boats on the board (all swallowed by Whales or Sea Serpents or the Whirlpool)? Do you just keep going, swimming to safety, one space at a time (unless you have the dolphin tile) until a new boat enters the game to speed things up again?

Thanks!

Hi

I'm just reading the rules and have some questions:

1.
Remove a terrain tile - I must be adjacent to a sea tile. Is the tile in the middle with the sea serpent token also considered as sea tile?

Thread: Survive: Escape from Atlantis!:: Rules:: Boat Capsized by Whale is Not a Swimmer Movement

The two sea hexes next to a safe island are both occupied: one by a whale and the other by a sea serpent. There is a boat with 2 of my meeples and 1 from an opponent. The boat is located in the sea hex adjacent to these sea-creature-occupied hexes opposite the island. On my turn, I move the boat into the hex with the whale and the boat is immediately capsized/destroyed and the meeples become swimmers. However, this is not considered a swimmer movement. Therefore, I am able to use my remaining 2 movements to move my two swimmers to the safe island. My dice roll yields a sea serpent, so I move the sea serpent to the space with the 1 remaining swimmer, who is then killed.
Is this a legal sequence of events?

If a swimmer is in a water hex that is adjacent to a safe island, how many movement actions does it take for the swimmer to get onto the safe island, 3 or 1?

We can move occupied boats 1-3 spaces. Am I correct in assuming that it would be possible to move a boat 1-6 spaces with this tile used?

Thanks

Hello, it is stated in the rulebook “ • A given sea space can only contain one Ship at any time.” So does it mean while moving a ship I can’t even cross the hex with another ship and should go around it?

Gracias!

I played my first game of survive with the expansion yesterday and have a question about the dive dice.
In the base game, sea monsters have a movement of 1. With the dive dice, it seems they can get up to a movement of 3. That made them far, far more deadly than before. Did we play that right or is the maximum move still capped at the original 1, even if you roll a 3?

We did learn quickly not to load up a boat with 3 of your own meeple. None of those boats made it, so maybe it is just a matter of adapting the tactics.

Hey there, I know my question is about the expansion, but i guess this is the real place for forum posts.

A friend said when placing squids, they cannot be placed or moved inside the dark border (border around the setup of the tiles). This means that it can never come to the center of the board. I have never seen this anywhere. Wondered if it was true. Thanks.

Are the two spaces at the safe islands considered safe, or do you have to move off the boat on another turn? The space looks to be on sand, some have a dock, and the serpent space is another space in question, which is right next to it.

If a maple was on a tile that was taken, but the tile put another boat down, does the meeple automatically go on the boat, or is it in the water with the boat in the same space?

I keep wondering why there are so many boats with the game, when they get wiped out fairly quickly and few of the tiles say to replenish them? There are always quite a few boats in supply, waiting to go on the board, but it never happens. Am I doing something wrong?

Can a meeple jump from one boat to a boat in an adjacent space without going into the water? Sometimes empty boats are blocking the island and I am wondering if you can go next to it and move meeple from one boat to the other, then onto the island?

Can a monster pass through a tile (or end to a tile) occupied by another monster?
It is clear that this in not allowed for boats. I do not find evidence for monsters in the rulebook. Thanks.

If you are a swimmer with a boat and giant squid in the same sea tile, can you jump onto the boat and then move the boat away? Also, if a giant squid is next to a land tile can you move into that land tile and then onto another tile and not get attacked by giant squid?

Hi!!

A sea serpent is in a square where there is an empty boat, which it does not destroy.
Adjacent to this square is an explorer on top of a boat. Can this explorer, in a first move, jump into the empty boat where the snake is and in his second move jump to a safe island, to another boat, or jump into the water?

Or does the sea serpent destroy the boat and kill the explorer automatically when it lands on that square?

Thanks!!!

A couple of clarifications please

Swimmers can make 1 sea move per round. Is this 1 move per swimmer as in I can move 3 of my swimmers 1 space each?

Swimmers can't board a boat from an adjacent sea tile. Does this mean that when they get OFF the boat into a sea space, they jump in the sea on the same space the boat is or can they jump in the sea space adjacent to the boat they're on?

Thanks!
